Just keep it covered in the refrigerator. We prefer to store in the refrigerator after about 2 hours sitting out on the counter. Then once you are ready to serve top the cream cheese mixture with your favorite toppings. We like to prepare the taco dip with the bottom layer – Sour Cream, Cream Cheese and Taco Seasoning and then spread it in your pan. Change the Toppings – Change the topping to what you prefer.Add Meats – Top with ground beef or shredded chicken for added protein.Change the base – You can easily change the base to a refried beans or other types of beans.Taco Seasoning – You can use store bought taco seasoning or make your own.Add your favorite toppings – We added cheese, lettuce, and diced tomatoes.Combine Ingredients – Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature as it will combine easily with the sour cream and seasoning.Step 4 – Next top with shredded cheese, then shredded lettuce, and finally diced tomatoes.I’m using a glass circle serving platter but you can make any work for this great recipe. Step 3 – Once it is mixed, pour into a serving platter.Just let it sit longer at room temperature so the cream cheese can soften more and then mix again. Step 2 – If there are small clumps, then the cream cheese isn’t soft enough.
